Search for talented surfers

28/08/2008 11:28:00 AM
HIGH performance surfing coaches will soon be descending on the Great Southern.

The team from Surfing WA will be inviting all junior surfers to attend the inaugural Great Southern Talent Search.

The program is a new and exciting initiative aimed at surfers under 18 years old to help develop their skills and promote the sport.

Among the experts managing the program are WA high performance coach Mike McAuliffe, a multiple Australian National Title holder with many years of experience.

The program will focus on having fun, with technique, competition surfing, tactics and judging all being addressed.

Registration forms are available at www.surfingwa.com.au and must be submitted before Wednesday, September 3.

Once all applications are in, Surfing WA will decide the best day and beach location to run the one-day course.

Information, including meeting times and the day’s format, will then be posted on the website.

All registered surfers will also receive an email.

Everyone should bring their own food, water, surfing equipment, sunscreen and most importantly, a positive attitude.

For information phone Mike McMonigal on 9448 0004.
