In the B3 division Royal Saints9 came up against Bethel, who are having a fantastic season.

Royal Saints played with great effort in a game that did not reflect the scoreline.

Royals’ Megan Owen was brilliant in defence against Bethel’s persistent shooters, while Mollie Forbes made it hard for the attackers.

Bethel’s Emma Lamb had a superb game with consistent effort and great defending and Bethany Castlehow provided great interceptions and defence.

Bethel won the game 27-5.

In the Bodycare B2 division, Bullets6 played Royal Saints8 in a free-flowing game.

Royals gained an early lead with brilliant shooting from Angela Wolfe. Bullets fought back with some outstanding play by Ella Bunker and the scores were level at half-time. In the end, Bullets were just too strong and won 28-23.

Well done to the umpires who did a great job.

In the Ironmonger Building Company A4 division, Grammar3 came up against Bullets5 in a close game from start to finish.

All players made fantastic efforts and defence from both sides was brilliant, applying pressure to the attackers.

In an intense fourth quarter, Grammar’s Gina Rodgers scored in the last two seconds, drawing the game 36 all.

Well done to Grammar’s Imogen Dyagraaf and Breanna Butker, and Bullets’ Bronwyn Jones and Janelle Warren for their great performances.

In the Premier Hotel Open division, Cranbrook1 met Jokers3 in an outside game full of energy.

Cranbrook’s Susan Wakefield played a blinder in this friendly game.

Cranbrook were much improved, but Jokers deserved the 60-20 win.

In the Bunnings A1 division, Royal Saints1 played Bullets2 in a fast-paced game with extremely quick passing from end-to-end and great shooting. Final score was 53-22 to Royal Saints.

Nominations for the members 2009 team lists are up at the office.

This will be a brilliant weekend of netball, so please nominate and give it a go.

The Saturday umpiring sessions have now concluded.

Thanks to everyone who made the effort to participate and learn valuable information and skills.

A big thanks also to coordinators, Lesley Boyd, Brenda Martin and Debbie Bramley. There will be a presentation this Saturday for all those attendees.

14/11/2008 | There isn't any doubt any more about whether Deputy PM, Julia Gillard, has the killer instinct. The problem tends more to be how to drag her off the victim's body.
