AFTER a two-week break, netball was back in full swing at the weekend.
With chilly and windy conditions to contend with, many of the games on the outside courts were low-scoring.
However, the B2 game between Kangas 6 and Bethel 1 was a very high-scoring affair with some excellent passages of play using a variety of passes.
Accurate shooting by both teams was a highlight of the game. Kangas’ Alice Murdoch and Sophie Mountford performed well for their team which went on to win 39-20.
Bullets 7 had a convincing win against Royals Saints 8 in the B3 division.
Bullets, utilising a tight defence led by Keyarna Salmon, were able to stop many attacks into the goals by the Royals team.
Although Royals’ Malia Leger played a great game and Chenoa McLeod shot well, Bullets won the game 33-20.
In the D2 division, a good defensive match from Jokers saw them win the game 17-4 over Bullets.
The first three quarters were low-scoring, but in the last quarter, accurate shooting from Savannah Hailey and Isabella Baum saw Jokers add nine goals to their score. Bullets put in a good team effort with a great game played by Claire Marsden in defence.
In the D3 division, Royals Saints 12 played Cranbrook 3. This was an evenly contested game. Excellent defence by both teams left it a low-scoring affair with Royals coming away winners 11-6.
