Tigers cruise to win over Giants

RAILWAYS easily accounted for the young Denmark-Walpole side on Saturday after leading from start to finish.

In an uninspiring contest at Tigerland, Railways skipped out to a 23-point lead at quarter time.

Joe McCormack, Jarrod Whittle and Callum Burgess were again in good form for the home side.

The Magpies hit back and reduced the margin slightly as Tyler Stone found the goals.

But Jared Lane responded to stamp the Tigers’ authority on the contest.

Railways kicked away again in the third term, booting five goals to nil before Magpies fans had something to cheer about in the last.

Tyler Stone added his fourth to join Brodie Hickey and Darryl Burke in the best players list as Denmark outscored the home side which eventually won 16.18 (114) to 8.5 (53).

Denmark face an equally tough task this week as they travel to Albany to take on Royals at Centennial Oval.

With just four rounds remaining, it looks as if the ladder is set with Royals sitting on 11 wins followed by North Albany (8), Railways (6), Mt.Barker (4) and Denmark (1).

In the Reserves last weekend, Boyden Coyne kicked 12 goals as North Albany defeated the Bulls by 87 points.

Railways beat Denmark by 151 points in a game that had the statisticians reaching for the record books.

North Albany defeated the Bulls in the Colts to maintain their grip on second spot.
