THE first stage of Albany Revolver Club’s April trophy shoot saw a good field at Mutton Bird Range recently.

George Franey led the day in rimfire and centrefire divisions as well as the final three events.

There are potential new stars rising in the ‘500 club’, with new member Russell Thomas taking second place in centrefire.

Junior, Cody Marklew, led off for the day with 94.2 at 50 metres, while Ron Thomas led 25 metres on 89.3.

Franey led the 15 metre timed on 97.2 and both 10 metre multi-target events with 76.3 and rapid fire with 97.2.

Kevin Caimanos placed nearest to his nominated score of 440 with 441.

The second stage of the trophy will be this Sunday, April 19.
