NETBALL returned to ALAC on Saturday after a short break for the Foundation Day long weekend.
Jokers 11 made a strong start in the first half of their D2 game against Bullets 9, with Jessica Twaddle and Savannah Hailey shooting well.
The centre of the court was evenly matched throughout, with Bullets’ Jessie St Jack and Mikayla Richardson and Jokers’ Emma Hinds and Josie Western putting in a great effort.
Bullets’ Kelsey Heffernan intercepted well, using her height to her advantage, but the final score went to Jokers 15-6.
Jokers also made a good start in their A1 contest against Kangas.
Jodie Keen, who has strengthened Kangas’ goal accuracy, combined well with her centre court to her team’s advantage.
Jokers played a great third quarter, but Kangas went on to win 52-26.
Narrikup 5 showed they were a classy side in their A3 encounter with Bullets 4.
Narrikup’s strong defence and accurate shooting saw them run away easy winners 51-15.
As well as the the usual fixtures this Saturday, the Albany Netball Association will be holding a club carnival on Sunday.
Twenty-six Great Southern teams from U11s to U13s will be competing.
The carnival starts at 9.30am with trophies for the winner in each age division.
