A TEAM from Albany Golf Club has qualified for the National Championship Final of the Holden Scramble, Australia’s largest and most successful Pro/Amateur teams event.

Albany Golf Club’s Rob Farley (pro), Robert Cridge (22), Kate Myers (23), Shaun Myers (6) and Steve Pinner (17) won at the qualifying regional final at The Vines on October 2.

The final is at Twin Waters Resort in Queensland on December 4 to 7.

Farley was first with a gross score of 59 and nett 52.2, and McKay sixth with 61 (56.2).

Mt Barker Golf Club’s Patrick Wilson was eleventh with 66 (58.6) and Denmark Golf Club’s Mark Tibbles was twentieth with 74 (65.2).

To make it into the top 28 team from more than 10,000 from across Australia who compete in The Holden Scramble (now in its eighteenth year), is considered by organisers as an extraordinary achievement.

Over the last 17 years over 650,000 amateurs have played in more than 5500 local Scramble events throughout Australia and New Zealand.

The Holden Scramble is a four-person team ambrose event, under a elimination-style format.
