Golf classic

24 Sep, 2009 09:36 AM
THE Frankland River Golf Classic celebrated its tenth year on Saturday, September 12.

Another strong turnout of 75 golfers took to the picturesque Frankland District Golf Course for the event, ensuring its success.

The classic continues to attract players from all over the state who return year after year.

They include many regulars to the event, suppliers to the local viticulture industry, representatives of the many sponsors and budding golfers.

Kim and Don Lange won the classic from Margaret Skinner and Tony Henderson.

The best gross score of the day was achieved by Dave and Sally Carey, followed by Jon Beasley and Simon Massina.

Golfers were kept refreshed during the day, served from the drinks carts.

That evening, an array of prizes were awarded at the Frankland District Country Club, followed by a delicious meal provided by the Frankland River Bowling Club.

An event of this calibre does not happen without considerable input from many people, with thanks to the many sponsors who made it a great success.
