Dylan's times are a-changin'

ASHS student Dylan Morgan is flying high after a 10-day footy trip to Melbourne.

The Royals colts’ rising star returned to Albany on Sunday after playing for the WA team in the State Schoolboys Football Championships.

Fourteen-year-old Morgan was in the starting 18 in four of the team’s five games including the grand final against Victoria Metro on Saturday, which was played in front of 1000 spectators.

Despite being sick the day before, Morgan played a ripper against South Australia in the third game of the carnival.

The boys broke the game open with some good running from behind, with Morgan taking 15 possessions on the wing before half-time.

He was also instrumental in setting up several goals in the 68-39 victory.

The trip was just as much about absorbing footy culture as well as playing.

Amongst the many memorable moments were excursions to the Telstra Dome to watch North Melbourne play Collingwood and enjoying a half-time parade on the ‘G’ at the Richmond/Essendon game.

The squad also enjoyed dinner at Melbourne University and toured the MCG and Sports Museum.

Morgan, who was one of only three players from regional WA to make the squad, was back at Centennial Oval on Wednesday playing for Royals colts against Mt Barker.
