A FORMER Albany resident is to represent Australia at a global young leaders’ conference.
Curtin Business School accounting student David Taylor is one of only two Australians selected to represent Ernst and Young Australia at the conference in the United States.
The International Intern Leadership Conference in August gives participants the chance to learn about the company’s strategy and vision.
Originally from Albany, the 21-year-old is currently completing a double degree in Commerce and Agribusiness at Curtin University and will complete his studies in 2010.
He undertook vacation work at Ernst and Young earlier this year and after a competitive selection process, was selected to join the company as an intern.
After graduating from Denmark Agricultural College, Mr Taylor gained entry to Curtin’s School of Agriculture and Environment (formerly the Muresk Institute) and he later transferred to the Bentley campus.
Now living in Canning Vale, he said he was honoured to be selected to represent Australia at the conference in Orlando, Florida.
“The conference is a three-day event with seminars, workshops and team-building exercises,” he said. “I’m looking forward to networking with the other interns and learning about different cultures.”
Mr Taylor hopes to set up his own accounting firm and work with agricultural clients.
