Snow attracts tourists

24/07/2008 11:53:00 AM
THE promise of more snow in the Stirling Range brought plenty of visitors to the region at the weekend.

Bluff Knoll Cafe proprietor Michael Roberts said business was brisk at the popular tourist spot, as curious people, attracted by the hope of seeing a few flakes, braved the cold weather.

“I was out there on Tuesday afternoon and although it was pretty damn cold, there was no sign of snow,” Mr Roberts said.

Albany’s maximum temperature remained under 14 degrees on both Friday and Saturday, with the minimum about eight degrees.

There were 2.8 hours of direct sunlight on Friday and 19.6mm of rain fell over the weekend.
