ALBANY Senior High School students have been rewarded for their imaginative approach to science.

In the 2008 WA Science Talent Search, Shannon Koster, Alexia Drygan and Simon Gillett, who were search winners in Year 8, won the Middle Secondary Investigation category for a project on the effects of traffic on coastal marine organisms.

Katharine Jennings, Renae Shann and Emily Kelly were runners-up in the same category for their project, on the effects of boat traffic on coastal marine organisms.

The winners each received a medallion, $150 prize money and a certificate of excellence, while the runners-up received $120 and a certificate each. The projects will feature in a national competition.
