Respite centre's auction

30 Apr, 2009 09:15 AM
CONSTRUCTION of the Albany Lions Community Care Centre’s respite facility is expected to begin in May.

But the centre still needs money for the fit-out.

As a result, it is holding a buffet dinner and auction on May 16 at Motel Le Grande.

Centre manager Colleen Tombleson said local businesses had donated many items to auction on the night.

Tickets are $45 a head which includes one free drink. They can be purchased from Lions Community Care on Hardie Road, phone 9841 8668.

The respite facility will provide options for carers and those being cared for to have regular breaks and also cater for emergency and short term respite.
