A 28-year-old York man has received a hefty prison sentence after admitting to having underage sex with two Albany schoolgirls.
Judge Philip Eaton sentenced Adam Troy Simonetti (28) to 42 months imprisonment in Albany District Court last Wednesday after he pleaded guilty to two counts of inciting a child over the age of 13 and under 16 to commit an indecent act and two counts of underage sexual penetration.
Simonetti, who was arrested in York last November by the WA Police Sex Crimes Division, had been posing as a juvenile during a six-week SMS relationship.
It culminated in him meeting the children in an Albany motel between November 11 and November 17 last year.
Police investigated 6,815 calls Simonetti made on his mobile phone and discovered 121 of them were text messages sent to the two girls, including arrangements to meet for sex at a local motel on November 13, 2008.
Simonetti claimed his acute drug dependency, which included a cocktail of heroin, cannabis and methampetamines, had rendered the age gap indistinct.
Simonetti also acknowledged his relationship with the girls was inappropriate and was prepared for whatever outcome the District Court decided.
