THE benefits for local businesses, clubs or organisations from next year’s Ulysses Club annual general meeting in Albany will be discussed at two meetings next week.
The motorcycle enthusiasts plan to meet in Albany from March 8 to 15, bringing an estimated 5,000 visitors to the region.
Albany Chamber of Commerce CEO Graham Harvey said initial projections suggest the event will inject as much as $10 million into the community.
Mr Harvey said the event provided a “fantastic opportunity” for locals to provide a range of products and services that the visitors will require during their stay.
The Ulysses Club has nearly 30,000 members across Australia, considting of motorcycle enthusiasts over the age of 50.
“Although one can join as a junior member when you turn 40,” Mr Harvey said.
The chamber and Ulysses organising committee representatives will explain what is required, how locals can help, and what business opportunities are available at the information evenings.
The first meeting is on Monday, May 18, at the Albany Club, 33 Aberdeen Street (7pm start) and on Tuesday, May 19, at Banksia Farm, Pearce Road, Mt Barker (7.30pm).
