Perfumery goes big

01 Oct, 2009 10:37 AM
MT Romance has gone big in promoting its perfume manufacturing business.

It has created a one-metre high perfume bottle which has taken pride of place in its showrooms on Down Road.

Now the public has the chance to win cosmetics valued at $1,000 by guessing the amount the bottle holds.

Mt Romance tourism and retail manager Elise van Gorp said the idea of having a giant perfume bottle was included as part of plans for the redevelopment of the Mt Romance showroom which has taken place over the past six months.

The giant perfume bottle arrived recently after months of design work, engineering and finding someone able to manufacture it.

Enquiries for its construction took the company to France, Italy, China, New York, Torbay and finally to Perth, which is where it was finally made.

The bottle has been placed on a timber pedestal designed, engineered and made in Albany using local lacy sheoak and local skills and talent.

It is also a metre in height.

“We’re using the bottle to provide visitors with an immediate “wow” factor upon arrival in the showroom, and clarity as to the core business of Mt Romance – the provision of sandalwood oil to the leading French perfumeries,” Ms van Gorp said.

“The perfume bottle is indicative of our signature brand.”

The competition will run until Monday, October 12. The person to most closely guess the amount will win Mt Romance cosmetics.
