Mini owners to celebrate

20 Aug, 2009 08:54 AM
ALBANY Mini owners will be taking to the streets to celebrate their cars’ 50th birthday next Wednesday.

Mini owners have been invited to take part in a drive-a-Mini day, starting with a meeting at Alison Hartman Gardens at 11.30am.

Mini enthusiast Gary Turner said it was all part of an event organised Australia-wide and in New Zealand.

“I want Mini owners to contact me so they can be registered and we can log on with the numbers,” Mr Turner said.

“Then we can meet and have a parade in the streets.”

Registrations for the day can be made with Mr Turner on 9841 6197.

The Mini first rolled off the British Motor Company production line in England on August 26, 1959.
