2/10/2008 8:59:00 AM
THE number of Denmark women utilising Breastscreen WA’s mobile mammogram service has increased since its last visit in 2006.

The service, which visited Denmark between July 24 and August 21, recorded a total of 485 appointments, compared to 426 two years ago.

The aim of the program was to achieve a participation rate of 70 per cent in women aged between 50 and 69 years.

The Denmark visit covered the statistical local areas of Denmark and part of Manjimup, which has an estimated female population of 1794 for the target age group.

In the last two years, 64 per cent of the total target population have attended screening.

The participation rate was calculated using 2002 population estimates based on the 2001 census.
