Local arrested for robbery

06 Aug, 2009 09:20 AM
POLICE have charged an 18-year-old local man with aggravated armed robbery after a hold-up at the Marbellup Tuck Shop in July.

The man was heavily disguised when he used a modified cap gun and a knife with an 18-inch blade to coerce the shop’s 70-year-old assistant into handing over $150 on July 15.

Police will allege the man had previously worked at the shop and knew the whereabouts of the shop’s till which is hidden from public view.

The man, who was 17 years old at the time of the incident, will appear in Albany Children’s Court on August 24.
