AN initiative to provide more information to City of Albany ratepayers and residents continued last Saturday.
The information forum at Albany Town Hall was the second this year encompassing developments being undertaken within the City’s boundaries.
Mayor Milton Evans, councillors, CEO Paul Richards and executive directors were on hand to answer any queries being presented.
Mr Richards said it was important for the information to be presented up front to residents because of the many developments and general works programs happening.
“Much of the information we have here is in response to the last expo,” he said.
“We intend to do this on a quarterly basis.”
Mr Richards said pathway planning was one of the issues followed up by the City for presentation.
He said since the injection of funds by the State Government through Royalties for Regions, the City had been working on ways link up pathways throughout the city.
“Work is about to commence to fill the missing gaps,” he said.
“Emu Point is being surveyed and residents will soon start to see things happening.”
Mr Richards said he was confident the forums would satisfy many complaints the City had received that residents were kept out of the picture on development by not providing enough information on what was happening.
The Doric Group and Verve Energy joined the forum.
Doric site manager Daniel Ryan said the work on the entertainment centre was about to enter a new phase with construction of the fly-tower finalised along with the multi-function and backstage area.
“Major concrete pours are completed, just the steps at the entrance remain,” he said.
“This will allow steelwork on the main roof to commence.”
Mr Ryan said supporting columns would be erected next before the roof takes shape.
Mr Ryan is one of three site managers coordinating the many phases of the project.
He said work was on schedule.
