Christmas festivities

05 Nov, 2009 08:37 AM
THE annual Christmas parade through Albany’s streets will be on December 5.

The City of Albany and Centro Albany 2009 Christmas Pageant and Concert promises to be bigger and better than ever.

Last year’s Christmas celebration was the biggest yet, attracting record crowds and filling the CBD with plenty of colour and a whirlwind of festive spirit.

Warm-up entertainment will be provided before the parade which will be followed by an all-ages family concert and the official turning-on of the Christmas tree lights.

Organisers of floats will be asked to follow a “through the ages” theme to create a greater attraction for the young and young at heart.

The pageant event will be from 4pm to 10.30pm, with the parade starting at 6.30pm.

There will be plenty of food stalls and markets to find presents at Alison Hartman Gardens.
