THREE local charities recently benefited from the Great Southern Street Machine Association’s Albany Weekender Show & Shine.
GSSMA president Vince Ruffo presented Val Chisholm from the Children’s Cancer Centre, Anne Forbes from the Royal Flying Doctor Service and Ray Hirst of the Make-A-Wish Foundation with a cheque for $1,000 each.
“This money will go towards helping grant wishes for sick children,” Mr Hirst said.
Ms Chisholm said the money would go towards helping local families with things like schooling.
“We are very thankful for this money because it will keep the doctor flying,” Ms Forbes said.
Mr Ruffo thanked all supporters of the event including the Albany Weekender and Auto One.
“We have been supporting local charities for the past 13 years and plan to continue for years to one.”
He also promised next year’s event would be even big and better, with major plans on the cards.
