Accreditation for health care

27 Aug, 2009 08:46 AM
THE good news for the WA Country Health Service - Great Southern is that it has been officially acknowledged for its health care.

It was recently awarded full accreditation from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards for a further two years.

Regional health service director Rob Pulsford said full accreditation was a major achievement and highlighted the commitment of staff to maintaining quality patient services.

“I would like to congratulate WA Country Health Service staff in the region on their professional and dedicated approach in forging close links with patients and the wider community,” Mr Pulsford said.

“Achieving this accreditation followed a streamlining of services across the entire region.”

The assessment for accreditation focuses on safety and quality issues identified by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards (ACHS) as national priorities.

“The process involved a team of surveyors visiting the Great Southern to ensure that we are able to demonstrate that national standards are being met,” Mr Pulsford said.
